Work harder, not smarter, they said. Well, what if you could gear up your old Steamroller or Rat Ride and do it on a dime? It’s a question no one’s been asking, so naturally, our friend Bicycle Pubes helped us come up with an answer.
It’s called the Surly Detrackulator, a simple solution to resurrecting that dusty 1x1 with today’s transmission technology a la 142 thru-axle UDH dropouts. Plus, it’s fully capable of clearing 750D x 40mm tires, should you act upon impulsive thoughts. (Hell, throw in a 29’er and run it reverse mullet.)
What’s better, the Detrackulator features three accessory mounting points, so free-thinking riders can experiment with various setups. Install yours with a single bolt through the fender eyelet and let it rip.
